Athletic Journey
Rachelle started her athletic journey when she began dancing at the age of 5 years old. As she continued to grow, she developed a deep love and appreciation for the combination of artistry and athleticism that dancing provides. She achieved high levels in dance, completing the Advanced 1 RAD Ballet Exam and Advanced 1 ISTD Modern Exam. She danced for more than 10 years with two Calgary based dance companies. Rachelle still loves to drop into an occasional dance class.
Unfortunately, in the course of her dancing, Rachelle sustained an injury that she struggled with for many years. The difficulty she experienced in dealing with this injury inspired her to pursue a career in physiotherapy - to help dancers and athletes with the prevention of, and recovery from, injuries. Her understanding of the demands and mentality of athletics has been a great asset to her physiotherapy practice.
Educational Pathway
Rachelle completed a Bachelor of Health Science degree at Mount Royal University in 2016, before completing a Masters of Science in Physical Therapy at University of Alberta in 2020. She is a Registered Physiotherapist with the College of Physiotherapists of Alberta.
Rachelle is committed to the ongoing acquisition of professional skill and knowledge. She has taken several courses to complement her scholastic education including: On Point Needling (2024), Plinth to Podium (ORKA Performance - 2023), Level I Teacher Training (Perfect Form Physiotherapy - 2020), Level II Pointe Intensive (Perfect Form Physiotherapy - 2021), and Level II Flexibility (Perfect Form Physiotherapy. - 2022).
